Music with a message is a brand new concept in Ocean City Maryland that revolves around family, faith and fun. Jellyfish is bringing Newsboys and Crowder two of the biggest faith-based bands in the country to perform on Sunday. Plain and simple, it’s just great music with a positive message.
Since arriving on the scene in 1985 in their native Australia, the Newsboys have taken Christian music by storm. Nearly three decades later, the iconic band is an undisputed industry leader, garnering six gold albums; 8 million units in career sales; 33 #1 singles; multiple GRAMMY® and American Music Award nominations; and signature hits ranging from “He Reigns” and “Born Again” to their recent 15-week chart-topper, “We Believe.” Expanding their reach into film, the band appeared in the 2014 Pure Flix hit, “God’s Not Dead,” inspired by their song of the same name. Currently comprised of drummer Duncan Phillips; lead vocalist Michael Tait; guitarist Jody Davis; and keyboardist Jeff Frankenstein, the Newsboys’ latest recording, Hallelujah For The Cross, marks their first-ever collection of hymns.
Crowder is super sophisticated hillbilly music made from super organic sweet tea and gasoline. Bottles and cans, clap your hands. Crowder has formed a new collective called "Crowder" that made its first performance at the Creation East Festival in June 2012. Parker, Dodson, Bush, and Waldrop have formed a new band, called "The Digital Age", and run a recording studio in Waco, Texas.David Crowder is still signed with Sparrow Records and sixstepsrecords under Capitol CMG. He is now making music under the name "Crowder.
Weekend and daily passes will be available for the three day event or for individual concerts. Offerings will include VIP, reserved, and general admission seating for the concerts. From the very beginning, we decided to attract popular national acts that have a proven track record. These bands sell out stadiums and put on a first-class show. Classic Rock Saturday will showcase legendary STYX, Crack the Sky, Ravyns and Blue Miracle. Our Sunday shows are called Music with a Message and will feature the Newsboys and Crowder.
We support local musicians and what better way to showcase their talent than on one of the many Jellyfish Festival stages. These bands are the foundation of our local music scene. Here are some of the local musicians scheduled to perform:
Phantom Limbs, Frankie Moran, Lauren Glick Band, Melissa Alesi, The Rouge Citizens, Lower Case Blues, Mason Brown & Shiners, Monkee Paw, Muskrat Lightning and many more to be announced…
The phenomenon known as Sublime, arguably the most energetic, original and uniquely eclectic band to emerge from any scene, anywhere, ended with the untimely death of lead singer, guitarist and songwriter Brad Nowell in May of 1996. But encompassing the sense of place and purpose long associated with Sublime’s music, Badfish, a Tribute to Sublime continues to channel the spirit of Sublime with a fury not felt for some time. What separates Badfish from other tribute bands is that they have replicated Sublime’s essence, developing a scene and dedicated following most commonly reserved for label-driven, mainstream acts. Badfish make their mark on the audience by playing with the spirit of Sublime. They perform not as Sublime would have, or did, but as Badfish does.

Powered by Julie Cymek’s sultry, commanding vocals and electrifying stage presence, Sweet Leda is taking the diverse mid-Atlantic music scene by storm as one of the most exciting and accomplished live acts on the rise. In fact, Lou Plaia (co-founder of Reverbnation) describes them as “the highlight of every festival they play.” With its rich blend of new school funk, psychedelic rock, soul and pop, Sweet Leda’s heartfelt original music can best be described as a female-fronted, soul-based, Zeppelin meets Chili Peppers!
